Piedmont Technical College Foundation Board
Thomas is on the Executive Committee for Piedmont Technical College (PTC). PTC, in South Carolina, strives to be a premier community college with a commitment to creating vibrant communities through the pursuit of student success. The college is a part of the South Carolina Technical College System and has an open admissions policy, allowing for accessibility to students with diverse backgrounds.
SC Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Thomas is on the Charles E. Holmes Endowment board for the South Carolina Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). The Endowment helps to provide scholarships for athletes and coaches in South Carolina to attend a FCA camp. The camps encourage individuals to reach their full potential both spiritually and physically. The Endowment was started in 2003 in memory of Charles E. Holmes to honor and continue his legacy.
Aiken Chamber of Commerce
Herlong Financial Group, LLC is a member of the Aiken Chamber of Commerce. The Aiken Chamber is accredited by the US Chamber of Commerce with five stars, and has nearly 1,000 members. The Chamber hosts regular events, and supports young professionals, businesses and the community of Aiken. Members of the Chamber are given networking opportunities, as well as the opportunity to promote and develop their business on a regular basis.
The Aiken Symphony Orchestra
Thomas is president of The Aiken Symphony Orchestra board. The Aiken Symphony Orchestra provides both classical and pop concert performances with professional musicians and featured soloist with national acclaim. This is a tremendous asset to the culture and arts of Aiken. He is also a member of the Aiken Rotary club.
Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce
Herlong Financial Group, LLC is a member of the Edgefield County Chamber of Commerce. The Edgefield Chamber strives to maintain the quality of life in the county, while improving the economy and status of the community through growth of small business, industry and agriculture. The Chamber hosts annual events for a variety of markets, including fundraisers and "feel-good" activities.
Edgefield County Hospital Foundation
Thomas serves on the Edgefield County Hospital Foundation board which strives to provide financial support for the needs of patient care and services. His father, D.C. Herlong, was a founding board member of the hospital and spent the last weeks of his life there provides compassionate care and that is so valuable to our small community.
