Our brains trigger us to action in different circumstances—we might work to eliminate a problem, take advantage of an opportunity, or to achieve a goal. Even then, we can’t always control the outcome. The desires of our brain also may not completely align with what we know to be the right choice in a situation—sometimes the easy choice in the moment is not the one that will serve us in the future, and it takes wisdom to recognize that.
